About Spirit of Tring

The Spirit of Tring is the brainchild of Grass Roots Group Chairman David Evans MBE. In 2010 he celebrated the company's 30th Birthday and in style – throwing the biggest party Tring had ever seen! Entertainment included the Proms and The Music of Queen, featuring stars from West End smash hit We Will Rock You. Visitors were stunned by the quality of the artists, backed by a full orchestra, and couldn't believe the size of the stage! Grass Roots donated all of the ticket proceeds back into the community. £75,000 was raised between local sports clubs, the theatre and the schools.

With overwhelmingly positive feedback from all those that attended, the Spirit of Tring returned in 2011, over two nights, this time attracting over 5,000 people. The Proms night was followed by an evening of The Music of ABBA featuring stars from Mamma Mia! Thanks to Grass Roots generous sponsorship the event, the beneficiaries raised over £20,000 between them.

The Spirit of Tring is now a firm favourite in the annual Tring social calendar: 2012 is set to be even bigger and even better…
